Guitar Tops

It’s long been held that the top of a guitar is the single most important factor in the tone of an instrument. That’s why we believe that every guitar that comes from the Zamar shop should be voiced individually, not assembled en masse. If a guitar is worth your money it shouldn’t be built to general specs or brought to a general thickness, it should be worked individually to maximize each individual boards’ potential.

• The guitar tops at Zamar are all sanded to thickness individually. We listen to each Spruce top to make sure that they are thin enough to allow for maximal tonal response while still maintaining the necessary structural integrity.

• Our bracing structure is designed to work in tandem with our thinner tops. We start with the basic and traditional X-brace, but shape our braces individually to allow the voice of the guitar to maximize itself.

  Almost all of the energy from a guitar string is directly transferred into the guitar top. A top should be designed with that reality in mind.
